Comments Before the Civil Aeronautics Board Requesting Suspension and Investigation of Passenger Fare Fuel Surcharge Field by United Airlines

In comments filed before the Civil Aeronautics Board today, the Council on Wage and Price Stability requested suspension and investigation of the passenger fare fuel surcharge filed by United Airlines, Inc. Effective September 26, 1975, United Airlines has proposed to add a 4.2 percent surcharge to all domestic air fares to enable the carrier to pass through to the consumer anticipated jet fuel costs which it expects this fall as a result of expiration of domestic petroleum price controls.
