Council on Wage and Price Stability Endorses Reform of Airline Regulation

In remarks before the Air. Transport Association today, James C. Miller III the Council’s Assistant Director Designate for Government Operations and Research, concluded that “regulatory reform in the airlines is highly desirable” and that “the prospect for such reform has never been better.” Mr. Miller stated that the Civil Aeronautics Board’s primary responsibility today is not in regulating monoply but in regulating competition which “is manifest almost totally in dimensions other than price.” …
