Council Warns Increase in Milk Price Supports is Likely to be Inflationary

The Council on Wage and Price Stability today filed comments with the Department of Agriculture (USDA) warning “that any increase in the support level for milk is likely to have a significant inflationary impact and impose substantial costs on consumers of dairy products.” The Council’s comments came in response to a USDA notice in the Federal Register requesting views on the operation of the Federal price support program for milk for the 1976-77 marketing year beginning April 1, 1976…
