Contract Awarded For COWPS Study of Federal Regulation of Steel Industry

The Council on Wage and Price Stability, in cooperation with the National Center on Productivity and the Quality of Working Life, announced today that the first phase of a joint contract ultimately totaling about $100,000 has been awarded to Policy Models, Inc. to review federal regulations which affect the steel industry. The contract was awarded as part of the Council’s overall study of the effects of federal regulation on the steel industry, which was announced February 25 of this year. The Council’s study represents the first time that an agency of the Federal Government has examined the total impact on a particular industry of all government regulations, with emphasis on the aggregate benefits and aggregate costs which result from the application of those regulations…
