“I am pleased to have this opportunity to express the views
of the Council on Wage and Price Stability concerning Commission
policy on establishing priorities for actions which affect the safety
of the public. The Council has had a continuing interest in Commission
activities, which we believe fall under our general mandate to monitor
the inflationary impact of activities in both the private and public
sectors of the economy and to present our views on such matters. With
regard to the public sector, Section 3(a) of the Council on Wage and
Price Stability Act expressly directs the Council to…”
