The Council on Wage and Price Stabil ity (“Council”) hereby submits its comments on a proposal by the Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) to revise the definition of meat and provide for nutritional standards, uses, and labeling of certain classes of meat. The proposal appeared in the April 27, 1976 issue of the Federal Register (41 FR 17560). Concurrently with publication of the proposed regulations, USDA put into effect interim rules which contain provisions similar to those contained in the proposal (see 41 FR 17535)…
