Attached is the Council’s analysis of the collective bargaining agreement between the United Auto Workers and General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler.

The important points to notice in this report are:

 

 

1) The Council’s estimate of the total cost of the agreement, based on all analysis of the cost to all three companies, is higher than a number of the press accounts of the settlement which appeared after Ford signed an agreement with the UAW ending a four-week strike.
