William Lilley III, Acting Director of the Council on Wage and Price Stability, announced today that James C. Miller III, who has been the Council’s Assistant Director for Government Operations and Research since October 1975, has resigned to become a Resident Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research in Washington, where he has been an Adjunct Scholar.

In commenting on the resignation, Mr. Lilley said, “Mr. Miller has provided intellectual leadership for the Council’s monitoring and commenting on the inflationary impact of federal regulations. He has been instrumental in establishing the Council’s role in the Inflation Impact Statement (IIS) program, and has been a key participant in the Ford Administration’s deregulation effort. We will miss him; he has brought the kinds of skill and energy necessary to the difficult job of constructively disciplining the government’s regulatory process.”
