Inflation update report

A number of Federal government reports and statistical series regularly deal in one way or another with inflation. No single report issued periodically, however, presents an overview of inflationary developments during a limited time frame. The Council on Wage and Price Stability, which is charged with monitoring movements in both prices and wages, will from time to time undertake this kind of overview. In its first effort the Council:

oAnalyzes the first quarter price developments.
o Reports on wage increases in large industries.
o Reviews major collective bargaining situations for
the remainder of the year.
