The Environmental Protection Agency {EPA} on March 15, 1978) proposed regulations to limit the level of noise emitted from newly produced motorcycles and newly produced motorcycle replacement exhaust systems 3 FR 10822}. These limitations would be phased in between 1980 and 1985,in a stringent standard of 78 dBA for street motorcycles would become effective.
