Mr. Chairman and Members of the Committee, I’m grateful for this opportunity to discuss with you the Real Wage
Insurance component of President Carter’s anti-inflation program.

I expect I may be making: many trips to Capitol Hill in the coming weeks to testify on. all aspects of the President’s plan. I have a special affinity for today’s subject matter, however, because your response to the President’s proposed real wage insurance plan will have an important effect on whether I succeed or fail in my job.
