Before the Interstate Commerce Commission: Policy Statement on Motor Carrier Regulation

The Council on Wage and Price Stability (Council) hereby submits its comments to the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC or Commission) on the proposed policy statement for Motor Carrier Regulation. The Council considers the ICC’s proposals an important step toward improving efficiency in the intercity bus and trucking industries and, therefore, supports the proposed policy change. However, we would encourage the Commission to take still further steps in the direction of relaxing entry restrictions, in order to facilitate the flow of resources to areas where market signals indicate they are needed.
