Before the Federal Home Loan Bank Board: Federal Savings And Loan System Policy on Branching

The Federal Horne Loan Bank Board (FHLBB) is proposing to revoke its 100-mile restriction on branching within a state by Federal Savings and Loan associations (S&L’s). Under current regulations, Federal S&L’s are permitted to branch in locations more than 100 miles from the horne office unless state branching laws are more restrictive. The proposed regulation would permit state-wide branching even in those states which have more restrictive branching laws.
