The Council on Wage and Price Stability (Council) hereby submits its comments to the Interstate Commerce commission (ICC or Commission) on the proposed general increases in rates and charges sought by the Central States Motor Freight Bureau (Central States). In its Supplemental Statement, Central States has proposed a general increase of 6.2 percent, which is a combination of an increase of 8.5 percent on truckload shipments of iron, steel and related articles and 6.0 percent on all other shipments moving under tariffs published by Central States.
