BEFORE THE FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION: HIGH-COST NATURAL GAS FROM TIGHT FORMATIONS

The Council on Wage and Price Stability today gave qualified support to a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission proposal that provides an “incentive price” to encourage production of natural gas from low-permeability formations (“tight sands”).   However, in comments submitted to FERC, the Council noted several deficiencies in the proposal.
